Magnificent Meenmutty Waterfalls

Wayanad is one of the Northern Districts of the State of Kerala, India, bordering the States of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It is really a ’Green, Clean, Lean Paradise on Earth’ nestled amongst the Mountains of the Western Mountain Pass gifted up with Wonderful Tourist Attractions, Waterfalls, etc, and Meenmutty Waterfalls is its Magnificent Gift to Tourists.
Three-Tier Waterfall
Located about 29 km from Kalpetta which is the Headquarters of the District of Wayanad Meenmutty is the Second Largest Waterfall of Kerala.
It is a Three –Layer Waterfall. However separate hike is necessary to each one of its Three Tiers through the soggy and deciduous forest. The route is quite lengthy, risky and dangerous, 8 km one way. So you have to have exposures in undertaking this hazardous and ardous trek. You can hire the services of a Guide if you wish to. Notwithstanding all these trials and tribulations your trip either from Calicut or Kalpetta to the edge of the Waterfalls would be a Great Venture of Adventure with pleasant experiences and surprises to ruminate upon.
On reaching the edge
Once and when you start reaching the edge of the forest you can hear the pleasing thunders of the Waterfalls, instrumental musical sounds of water dripping on rocks, etc, as if to cheer you up as also to announce to you in the loudest terms that your painstaking effort is about to lift you to the mountain of joy.
On reaching the Waterfalls
Its unique feature is the bravura visual that you would see on the fabulous flows of water from as incredible a height as that of 300 meters making pools on their downfall marches which would amaze and puzzle you. That astounding visual would make you sit around its rocks of sofas for hours and hours together. It can not but be ‘magnificent’.
How to reach
Karipur of Calicut is the Nearest Airport at a distance of about 100 km, The Nearest Railway Station is Calicut, about 75 km, Kalpetta is well connected to major towns of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, etc, which is located about 75 km from Calicut. From Kalpetta travel to Meppady which is about 10 km and the distasnce from Meppady to Meenmutty Waterfalls is about 12 km
