Eiffel, Unique Iconic Tower of World







Paris has become one of the Leading Tourist Destinations of the World thanks to her various Tourist Attractions. And in grabbing her that Coveted Status Eiffel Tower has played a very Pivotal Role.

Gustave Eiffel, the Brain Behind Eiffel

This Wonderful Structure has been conceived and designed by Gustave Eiffel, the World Renowned Designer and as such it has been named after him.

Location

It is built on Champ de Mars near Seine in Paris which is now called Lle de la cite and Lle de Saint Louis.

Tallest structure from 1889 to 1930

It has been built as the Entrance Arch of the World Fair of 1889 between 1887 to 1889 to mark the Remarkable Centenary Celebration of the French Revolution of 1789. It was the Tallest Structure in the World right From its inauguration in 1889 to 1930 standing at a Height of 324 Meters or 1063 ft.

The Unique Iconic Tower

It is a Unique Iconic Tower with the following Unique Features :

It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, It is the Most Visited Paid Monument in the World with approximately Eight Million Visitors Per Year, It is an Iron Structure Weighing above 7000 Tons, etc. And hence Eifel Tower could be called The Unique Iconic Tower of the World.

A huge iron tower with so much height and weight standing for more than a century is really incredible.

Three-layered structure

It has been constructed as a three layered or three levelled structure. From the ticket booth at the south side basement of the Tower tickets can be purchased to use the stairs or lifts. First and Second Levels can be reached by using either stairs or lifts. However Third Level can be reached only by lifts. Nonetheless using lifts would be better options given the fact the number of steps to ascend are substantial, 328 to First Level and 340 to Second Level. Once you reach the Third Level of the Tower it provides you with the Panoramic Views of Paris that are marvelous.

Restaurants

It has two restaurants, Altitude 95 at First Level and Jules Verme at Second Level. First Level provides you with space laced to stroll and relax. A large Circular Gallery with explanatory panels take you to Paris down the memory lanes of her monuments, sites, etc.

Temporary Tower Made Permanent

It has been conceived to be a Temporary Tower to last for only 20 years and hence it had to have got demolished in 1909. However as it was proved out to be a communication resource it was allowed to continue even after the expiry of its licence.

How to Reach Paris and the Eiffel Tower

Paris is well connected to all the Major Cities of the World and once you reach Paris you can avail of Taxi, Bus, Metro, etc, services to reach the Tower
